No one should be nervous about face contouring, and Max Factor UK’s make-up artist, Caroline Barnes is here to explain why. In just three steps, Caroline shows how powerful and easy contouring can be and what you need in your contour kit. Plus exclusive tips on the specific contours and highlights that will enhance your unique face shape.
Start by looking in the mirror, look at your face shape, your natural highs and lows, what do you want to subtly enhance or diminish? Every contour needs a highlight, so choose your two key contour kit pieces: A foundation two shades darker than your natural skin colour. A highlighter two shades lighter than your natural skin colour.
Moisturise skin, create a soft dewy base with Miracle Match Foundation and then cover the magic triangle under your eye with a CC Stick.
Following the natural shadows of your face, apply Miracle Touch Foundation to enhance your unique structure: cheek hollows, forehead, eye sockets, either side of your nose. Now take the Masterpiece Colour Precision Eyeshadow and highlight the areas that would naturally be hit by light: down the centre of nose, around the brown bone and along cheekbones. Blend with a beauty sponge for a soft, subtle look.
